Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Responsible for development implementation and monitoring of the global external sustainability communication strategy including choice of key messages topics channels tools and target audiences
* Position the adidas Group as a leading company when it comes to sustainability by driving all external communication efforts related to the topic
* Act as spokesperson for the adidas Group on all sustainability topics globally
* Ensure leading share of voice for the adidas Group in sustainability media and other media covering sustainability topics
* Responsible for direction and strategy of sustainability reporting
* Consult the SEA Senior Management team strategically when it comes to communication of their work
* Responsible for driving sustainability crisis communications when necessary
* Drive alignment process with all brands and functions within the adidas Group in terms of sustainability communication
* Develop a network of relevant key media contacts worldwide
* Establish a network within the sustainability community
* Develop and produce all relevant PR tools for channels like digital television print and radio
* Organize media events press conferences interview sessions media days factory trips etc
* Responsible for reaching Corporate Communication’s goal of leading coverage in the sporting goods industry globally by driving daily tasks of the Corporate Communication team media requests briefing docs releases journalist visits website blog etc
* Ensure information flow across the global and local PR organizations
* Responsible for managing Sustainability Communication Manager
Knowledge skills and abilities
* University degree or equivalent in business studies marketing communications or journalism
* At least 8 years working experience in the PR department of a company or PR agency alternatively at least 8 years working experience as a journalist
* Strong sustainability background incl topics such as environment supply chain working conditions and solid network in sustainability community eg peers NGOs media ideally related to the sporting goods or fast-moving consumer goods industry
* Exceptionally high competence in media
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Affinity for and experience of web 20 topics like corporate blogging and social media in corporate communications
* Excellent problem solving abilities and interpersonal skills
* Excellent negotiation abilities and advisory skills
* Fluency in English oral and written is a must preferably also fluent in German and other languages
* Very good computing skills MS Office Content Management Systems
* International mindset
* Proven sense of good co-operation in a multi-faceted team
* Passion for sport
