We are currently looking for aProduct Testing Engineer Apparelto ensure that Reebok products meet the functional demands of consumers by defining and documenting the performance needs of athletes and acting as the functional advocate during design development and commercialization Conduct wear testing on pre-production and production apparel garments
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assess the liking performance and durability of apparel through wear testing to determine if they meet Reebok standards and to assess the level of risk for defective returns This includes a reviewing garments upon receipt b arranging for wear test subjects c creating questionnaires log and instruction sheets d sending the garments to test subjects and monitoring the use of the product during the test e reviewing worn garments upon their return f performing necessary physical assessments including dissecting garments to verify construction checking product by sight verifying dimensions weight texture strength and other characteristics g compiling and analyzing all data sensory and durability using descriptive statistics h meeting with Product Development Managers to discuss the results and i writing and distributing reports to relevant US personnel in a manner to affect product development and production timelines
* Review design drawings and attend apparel category meetings to identify potential functional issues of styles and materials that need to be tested Ensure that testing is completed in time to affect product development timelines
* Collect and record sensory physiological or mechanical data of in line apparel garments during various stages of the product creation cycle following department guidelines in an unbiased rigorous scientifically sound and timely manner
* Organize all data folders with electronic and written information and archive materials relevant to each study
* Qualify new materials through sensory testing to determine if they meet Reebok standards
EDUCATIONEXPERIENCE
* Bachelors degree in textile engineering textile science physiology or biomechanics
* 3-5 years of testing experience in apparel or experience working within an apparel product creation team
* Ability to synthesize data and write test results in a clear concise manner
* Knowledge of garment construction and understanding of textiles and garment accessories preferred
* Ability to collect record and analyze sensory or physiological data in an unbiased objective manner
* Experience in Word spreadsheet and database software
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a group
* Culturally connected to sports and fitness worlds
* Ability to lift 20 pounds
* Ability to work with hands to examine garments and perform some repetitive motion tasks while processing garments
