An exciting contract opportunity exists to join the Sports Marketing Team as a Category Manager- Local Licensed This maternity leave position has one direct report and is responsible for the creation and management of licensed products for the Pacific marketplace Key elements of the role are delivering industry leading product ranges working closely with adidas’ AFL NRL and A-League partners holistic ownership of the go to market process from a category management perspective and driving both sales and margin budgets This role reports to the Sports Marketing Manager
Key elements of the role
* Develop and manage product strategies and execute seasonal plans that result in sustainable revenue growth and profits improved sell through in market and build consumer loyalty to the brand
* Be the consumer and category specialist for Local Licensed in Pacific
* Create and manage critical paths in-line with local and global timelines
* Work closely with major sporting clubs to develop ranges and drive calendar milestones
* Develop and nurture strong working relationships with adidas Global and local cross-functional partners
* Execute internal and customer pre-lines and Go To Market processes eg sales tools preparation product catalogues sampling
* Analyze market share information and develop seasonal competitor information tools
* Develop and implement seasonal strategic category business plans
* Achievement of key budget & growth targets
To succeed in this role you will need to have the following skillsqualitiesexperience
* Experience with licensed sporting products
* A keen passion for sport product and range development
* Previous Category management experience
* History in product development or creation
* The ability to work independently and perform a variety of tasks with varying complexity
* Well-developed people management skills
* Communication & presentation expertise
* Good organisational and time management skills & a proven ability to adhere to deadlines
* Financial acumen with respect to category management
* Initiative flexibility and a capacity to tolerate and resist stress
* Willingness to travel
* Microsoft Office skills PowerPoint Excel Word Outlook
The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in a fashion or marketing related discipline and have a track record in product management ideally within the sport or fashion industry You will be capable of working autonomously but will also be a strong team player
