PurposeBrief summary of why role exists Lead support and drive sustainable and profitable retail market share growth by inspiring the entire retail team field and retail back office to meet or exceed commercial goals KPIs and while building long term equity with the end consumer for the two brands of adidas and Reebok

Key AccountabilitiesList the 5-10 major areas of responsibility for role
* Overall fiscal responsibility for achieving the Canadian Retail business plan goals and budgeted objectives through sales margins profitability and other financial measurements for the brands of adidas and Reebok
* Drive and implement the Market Retail Strategy focusing on the 5 Ps People Product Premises Processes and Profit to continuously maximize profitability from the store portfolio covering the requirements for Canada key global stakeholders and Global Retail COE
* Full P & L management in a multi-store environment Prepare sales forecasts budgets quotas and other projections as required for the two brands of adidas and Reebok
* Manage and control operational expenses in line with the Canada Retail budget
* Identify key sites for expansion aligning with Wholesale Team to fulfill long brand and commercial objectives
* Create and drive a high performance culture by setting clear expectations targets analyzing stores performance holding District Managers accountable and giving appropriate and prompt feedback
* Visit stores to evaluate business operations and develop solutions to current operating practices to increase Brand awareness productivity workflow profitability and ensure a seamless consumer shopping experience
* Direct and continuously improve store operations to meet company objectives for operational excellence and fiscal responsibility
* Ensure identification and improvement of best practices by own store format and compliance in the Canadian Retail store portfolio
* Partner with HR IT Finance Retail Marketing Retail Development and Security to ensure department initiatives are aligned with business and marketing objectives
* Incubate a thriving e-commerce business under the overall Canadian retail umbrella and prepare the team and business for accelerated growth as a separate business unit within 2012
* Actively participate and make significant contributions to CDN Senior Management team in running the integrated business
* Lead by example staff progression using PEP mid years coaching tools and ongoing development programs
* Own internal procedures for the adidas brand to ensure full compliance with internal audit and published guidelinesprocedures
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
* Demonstrated experience in developing and completing successful financial and business plans for achieving sales service and contribution goals in large Retail organizations
* Proven record of sales and marketing in the Retail industry including trends and strategies
* Exceptional and engaging leadership & management skills
* Strong communication skills with hisher direct reports but more importantly with all the counterparts heshe will have to influence and work closely with US Retail Finance Operations and COE
* Extremely strong in the areas of merchandising and store operations preferably industry knowledge within footwear & apparel
* Expert understanding of Canadian market consumers and full price and outlet retail
* Strategy – ability to provide input to and implement strategy
* Change Agent mentality to look at all aspects of the business to overhaul and leverage Groups size and resources in Canada
QualificationsMinimum required education and experience
* Four year UniversityCollege Degree in Business with focus in Marketing and Sales
* Minimum ten years’ experience in Retail in the sporting goods apparel or fashion industry with considerable exposure to Canada and the multi language environment
* 5 years’ experience successfully leading managing and developing multi store retail teams
* Willingness to undertake domestic and international travel
