This role is responsible for maximising the profitability of the Centre of Excellence COE Retail by building and driving commercial strategies with a global perspective Responsibilities include developing and implementing merchandising best practise as well as selecting a commercial global foundation range partnering with Business Units BUs and Go-To-Market GTM
Key Responsibilities
* Work with the Vice President VP in shaping the global merchandising strategy and ensure implementation of the same working with the markets
* Steer the enhancement of all merchandising systems and tools to suit world class merchandising practise
* Work with the VP on the best Automatic Stock Replenishment ASR system and implement the same in all markets
* Drive the definition of a framework for key promotional analysis techniques to support markets in conducting effective analysis
* Drive the definition and regular analysis of competitor activity in the market
* Review and guide markets to conduct competitive pricing Seasonally review the markets’ pricing policy and make recommendations for a consumer focused pricing approach
* Steer the development of key merchandising reports and be responsible for the implementation of the same in the markets
* Review open-to-buy OTB of markets and highlight and raise concerns to ensure the buy is based on historical full price sales
* Work with the VP to define the methodology of option and space management Work with markets to implement the same
* Work with the markets to implement a ratio management to ensure the buy is placed on selling ratio
* Review buy analysis and recommend changes to the markets Work with the VP on defining a buy analysis and raise concerns
* Train the merchants on conducting trend analysis and make sure feedback is collected and sent to BUs in a consistent way
* Review best sellers and worst sellers at market level and make recommendations to the markets where possible
* Review in season stock cover and highlight concerns to the markets
* Define a framework working with Global Operations to come up with a process on in season reactivity
* Work with VP to formulate a proportionality framework and ensure execution of the same at market level
* Direct markets to make sure they have the correct end of season management to maximise clearance and minimise cost of reduction
* Contribute to the development of a merchandising training program and implement the same at market level

Qualifications
* Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office
* Fluent in English
* Additional language is an advantage
* Advanced knowledge of Retail Management Systems
* Strong analytical skills
* Structured organised and process orientated
* Attention to detail as error in analysis will have crucial impact to business
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment and under pressure
* University degree in business ideally with marketing and sales focus or equivalent professional experience
* Merchandising Experience 10-12 years
* Management Experience 5 years
