As theHead of Development Apparel - Sport Specificyou will be responsible for achieving the ‘end to end’ business objectives of the assigned apparel categories through management of the product development lifecycle which meets or exceeds the aesthetic quality price and delivery requirements You will lead and challenge the creation team to ensure that the source base processes and culture support the objectives of the business
JOB PROFILE
* Set and execute the strategic development direction for product creation for all assigned categories of the adidas apparel business
* Drive the development strategy for Sports Performance by balancing where appropriate unique calendar needs and global program alignment
* Ensure that product is finalized according to market needs in terms of timing costing product specification and product integrity
* Structure and manage the organization to ensure that the team keeps the highest emphasis on creating the best product QualityInnovation providing a high pricevalue relationship and on-time to market demand
* Design develop and implement customized processes that support divisional and category specific needs
* Continuously explore and implement new systems and technologies that make product development faster more efficient and more effective while elevating product integrity
* Drive strategic alignment with marketing and design to achieve shared business targets in a committed and successful cross-functional team environment
* Work closely with the Sourcing Organization to establish a seasonal development strategy and work actively on the product development allocation based on quality delivery and price
* Ensure organizational efficiency through effective motivation delegation and proper development of the respective team
* Build up and develop the team target setting performance assessment training development foster productive cross-category cooperation within the greater department
* Manage and operate the department within the agreed budgets
* Continuously monitor and evaluate team workload and organizational efficiency with the support of IT-systems data and analysis and team feedback and makes appropriate changes in order to meet business needs
YOUR PROFILE
* four-year college or university degree
* 10 years progressive work experience in the Apparel industry specializing in Product Development Sourcing andor Materials or directly related field with appropriate management experience
* Strong technical knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing methods
* Excellent ability to handle complex projects to meet deadlines
* Excellent ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations to all levels of the organization
* Very good understanding of complexities and challenges of the apparel business
* Strong ability to identify root cause and create optimal path forward
* Proven record of leadership and accomplishment in a multi-national environment
* Ability to travel domestic or international as required
* Fluent English verbal and written
* Strong MS-Office skills Word Excel PowerPoint
