Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
* Develop and steer the holistic design vision
and strategy for the adidas Heartbeat category
which covers Olympics and Regional Sports
Rugby Cricket Hockey NFL and Basketball
* Know the adidas athlete and multi-sport realm inside and out
* Drive the Heartbeat business vertically
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a long term creative directionvisionstrategy together with the Heartbeat Business Unit BU and the Creative Director
Aligning with the overall Performance creative direction
in order to position adidas as the market leader in this multi-sport category
* Develop and implement a creative strategy that will increase our Heartbeat brand association and recognition through brand marketing assets teams
athletes go-to-market and retail
* Develop a long term innovation roadmap for the Heartbeat category together with the adidas Innovation Team ait BU and the Advanced Team
* Establish a plan for how to implement and transition products from advanced stages to inline
* Proactively develop design concepts for new Heartbeat performance technologies and concepts optimizing the ratio of authentic
and inspirational design
* Lead and steer the BU creative vision toward strategic objectives and the business targets supporting the Sport Performance Divisions and BU SBP
* Work collaboratively with other Heads of Design Design Directors and Creative Direction to actively sharpen the adidas brand positioning overall
on a seasonal basis and in the Heartbeat BU
* Establish a close working relationship with the other Sport Performance Category heads in the Business Units key markets and in Sports Marketing
* Lead and steer design milestone meetings in cooperation with the design planning marketing planning and processes teams
* Define adidas design standards for the Heartbeat design team
which ensure the genetic code of the brand in every performance concept
* Contribute to the development of the overall Heartbeat category marketing
plan in cooperation with the Head of Marketing Brand Marketing
and Sports Marketing
* Develop and steer innovative and inspirational design concepts for all Performance categories
* Oversee all design concepts and coach team to defined standards
and processes incl coordination with BU teams and global operations
* Lead and steer design process optimization
to ensure state of the art workflow
Authorities
* Staffing managing and developing a team of Designers on different levels
as an integrated team by setting objectives targets and guidelines to ensure smooth cooperation of all direct reports along all interfaces
* Identify and prepare talent in the Heartbeat Category for career progression within the adidas organization

Requisite Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications
* Minimum 10 years functional experience in Design
for Olympic and Regional Sport Apparel and Footwear
* Minumum 8 years experience as a proven leader
* Degree in Design or related creative area
* Fluent in English
