Purpose
The purpose of the aIT Trainee Program is to recruit very talented highly motivated
globally- oriented top level graduates to the adidas Innovation Team train and
mentor them to an expert level and finally retain them within aIT by creating
individual career roadmaps for success and leadership positions in designer
engineer or sports researcher roles
Over the course of 18 months the Trainee will be cross-trained in Research
Engineering and Design Product Innovation disciplines The Trainee will gain deeper
insights and broader understanding of partner discipline’s roles and responsibilities
and contributions in the product team’s innovation process
The Trainee will also be trained to an expert level in their chosen career path - in this caseDesign
Trainees will be expected to contribute at a high level toward developing
creative concepts design market leading products and appropriate high value
innovations which improve brand competitiveness through design and product
leadership and enables adidas to deliver added value to consumers and athletes
Essential Design Duties & Responsibilities
* Execute lead and drive defined projects creatively as an integral member of ait Design
* Develop in cooperation with appropriate ait project Teams relevant technologies construction ideas and patterns through samples ensuring function and manufacturability and costing
* Create stories explore consumer conflicts and develop new performance innovations and incorporate research results in building unique market leading product design and concepts which are based on athletes and consumersneeds
* Be at the global forefront of design trends and be innovative in their application
* Own and coordinate the creative process to make sure that the final products meet both ait and BU commercial and image objectives
* Collaborate with In-Line as needed to ensure innovations are integrated into ranges and long-term product plans
* Ensure sufficient creative and technical contributions to product management and development
* Translate ait and BU strategies by acting as the performance innovation conscience for the company defining and incorporating Technologies into differentiated and distinctive design languages to fulfil or exceed customers expectations
* Design products from start to finish Design deliverables must be a professional level This includes concept exploration concept illustration hand sketches renderings technical drawings and “techpacks” colour concepts storyboards graphic solutions
Requisite EducationSkills
* Master’s degree in Industrial Design Mechanical Engineering Biomechanics Exercise Physiology or a related field or Bachelor degree and comparable industry experience of minimum 2 years in Apparel Product Advanced Product Footwear DesignOrthopaedicsExercise Physiology or Shoe Development depending on chosen path
* International background at least 6 months abroad preferred Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural diverse workplace
* Proficient Computer skills on Apple Mac Adobe Illustrator Photo Shop CAD
* Experience with 3D programs Rhino Alias
* Excellent computer skills in MS Office products
* Apparel Footwear Accessories Sportswear product knowledge
* High level of creativity and determination
* Ability to communicate and present ideas effectively
* High affinity for the sporting goods industry
* Passion for the brand and sport
* Fluent in English second language a plus
* Ability to travel and live abroad
