Purpose
Researches and presents market relevant fabric concepts prior to season start
Sources in collaboration with external consultant requested fabricsmaterials for
Fashion Group Y-3 and SLVR labels
Selects develops and implements fabrics which provide commercial success
Develops the right fabrics according to our timelines target prices sourcing policy marketing concepts and quality standards
Key Responsibilities
· Manages and drives all fabric related processes fabric booking delivery status lab dips leadtimes testing quality issues during sampling and production for all internal and external interfaces
· Builds and maintains a close relationship with interfaces such as Design Product Line Management Marketing Operations Quality Assurance and Suppliers
· Allocates fabric sources and translates the design vision into a fabric development
· Initiates and ensures successful sourcing and procurement of all relevant fabrics manages any delivery problems or minimum & pricing issues issues with clear communication to the relevant teams
· Ensures that all selected fabrics and trims are tested and approved
· Maintains and updates all materials and trims data in the relevant computer systems
· Maintains a proactive and usefull fabric library
· Prepares fabric trim overviews for presentations
· Attends and sources new fabrics and vendors from key fabric fairs
· May undertake special projects as and when required

Requisite Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications
· Degree in textile engineering or comparable degreeeducation
· Minimum of 3 years work experience in the fabric production industry knowledge of manufacturing process fabrics mechanical and chemical treatments
