Job Purpose
The Commercialization Engineer will co-ordinate with Rockport Canton headquarters fitting and engineering team Asia Development material and costing teams and shoe factories for product handover and commercialize product from engineering prototype thru production

Principal Accountabilities
* Oversee the commercialization of all new products that is placed in your factories This includes but is not limited to technical approval of all upper patterns monitoring the manufacturing process of all engineering prototypes fit trial and pre-production shoes and ensuring all finishing details are in place Model fit extreme fit and PP must be released on time with good quality ie fitting issues manufacturing concerns are all eliminated before production start
* Manage fitting durability tests and make sure these tests are done on time with good quality
* Make sure materials and finish shoe performance testing is done and released on time
* Review all new lasts and ensure they meet Rockport standards and set tolerances
* Review and manage size and width grading make sure the grading is done according to Rockport grading guidelines
* Co-ordinate the factory and mould shops on all new moulds upper and bottom and approval all blueprints and molded parts for this equipment
* Prepare and manage all documents in the commercialization stage including but not limited to teardown meeting report model fit extreme fit and pre-production trial reports review and approve factory SOP before production start
Skills Experiences and Education Required
Education
* Preferably holds a degree in a post-secondary engineering discipline
Skills
* High level of understanding of footwear manufacturing – differing shoe constructions – last types – shoe finishing
* In-depth knowledge of upper pattern engineering and mold making and grading
* Good communication skills including languages that are necessary to do this job
* Fluent English is a must Chinese and Vietnamese are plus
Experience
* 5 – 10 years in technical area of shoemaking
