The Apparel Sourcing Specialist acts as a liaison between product creation planning and purchasing and overseas offices to support the development production and shipment of products
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Collaborate with overseas liaison offices andor direct with vendors to proactively identify both issues and opportunities to resolve and capitalize respectively
* Communicate pricing updates and confirmations to appropriate internal personnel in Canton and Indy locations
* Attend and participate in category team meetings and Product Creation meetings with required deliverables
* Support the Sourcing Manager with project preparation data research and analysis
* Monitor PLM Product Lifecycle Management to ensure data accuracy and key milestone dates
* Maintain MDM-S Master Data Management System and FFC Fair Factories Clearinghouse database and SEALegal paperwork for all suppliers
* Maintain and update “Playbook” Vendor Manual
* Maintain key information and documentation on supplier capacity capabilities lead time to support effective allocation decisions
* Coordinate the development of workable prototypes which address desired function cost metrics cost market appeal and manufacturability
* Support the costing process during a season including ensuring all cost sheets are complete and submitted in a timely fashion
* Pass marketing forecasts to suppliers for capacity booking and follow up on material and trim pre-booking to ensure availability at time of production
EducationExperience
* 3-5 years of Sourcing production andor operations experience
* Prior overseas travel experience are plus
* Foreign language skills are plus
* Excellent computer skills advanced MS Excel Access & PowerPoint knowledge preferred
* Strong math and analytical skills
* Good negotiation skills and knowledge of the textile business
* Candidate must be willing and able to travel both in the US and overseas
