Purpose
To lead the design team and to ensure appropriate Kids apparel ranges are designed for the adidas brand in Asia as part of a regional design team in cooperation with Global Marketing Product Management and Product Development
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design team from a creative and organizational perspective
* Ensure sufficient service to product management and development
* Design products for the Asian Regional Apparel range based upon input from product management in order to supply the needs of the Asian market consumer
* Own the creative process to make sure that the final products meet Business Unit commercial and image objectives
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Collect relevant information needed to create an appropriate regional sports apparel & accessories collection
* Produce trend and travel reports for other members of the design team
* Create design and product concepts and supervise concepts of direct reports for the respective product area
* Design collections this includes hand sketches illustrations technical drawings color concepts and colored sketches story boards merchandizing boards graphic solutions
* Ensure all sketches and data are provided to development in a timely manner and ensure appropriate interaction and communication are maintained at all times between design development and marketing
* Assist Product Management in all issues regarding the realization of specific products and collections
* Ensure an efficient process and communication flow between design marketing and development
* Ensure organizational efficiency through proper workload distribution effective motivation training and development of direct reports
Requisite Education
* BA or MA in Fashion Design or Functional Apparel design
* Knowledge of Kids apparel functional products preferred
* Fluent in English Mandarin preferred
* High level of creativity
* Computer skills on Apple Mac Illustrator PhotoShop
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Kids apparel design
* Demonstrated ability to direct and coach others
